Hadith 5514

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يَأْكُلْ أَحَدُكُمْ بِشِمَالِهِ ، وَلَا يَشْرَبْ بِشِمَالِهِ ، فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَأْكُلُ بِشِمَالِهِ ، وَيَشْرَبُ بِشِمَالِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you should eat or drink with his left hand, for Satan eats and drinks with his left hand."
