Hadith 5400

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " لَاعَنَ بَيْنَ رَجُلٍ وَامْرَأَتِهِ ، وَأَلْحَقَ الْوَلَدَ بِأُمِّهِ ، وَكَانَ انْتَفَى مِنْ وَلَدِهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man performed li'an (mutual cursing) with his wife in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and denied the attribution of the child to himself. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) separated the two and handed the child over to the mother.
