Hadith 5389

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سَكَنُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ أَبُو الْحَسَينِ ، حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ أَبِي الْأَخْضَرِ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " كُنْتُ أَعْزَبَ شَابًّا أَبِيتُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَكَانَتْ الْكِلَابُ تُقْبِلُ وَتُدْبِرُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَلَمْ يَكُونُوا يَرُشُّونَ شَيْئًا مِنْ ذَلِكَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that during the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when I was a young unmarried man, I used to sleep in the Prophet’s Mosque at night. At that time, dogs used to come and go in the mosque, and after that, people would not even sprinkle a little water on the ground.
