Hadith 5334

(حديث مرفوع) قَالَ : قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ ، وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ فِي السَّفَرِ حَيْثُمَا تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer voluntary prayers on his mount, regardless of which direction it was facing.
