Hadith 5277

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ رَزِينٍ الْأَحْمَرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ تَزَوَّجَهَا رَجُلٌ ، فَأَغْلَقَ الْبَابَ ، وَأَرْخَى السِّتْرَ ، وَنَزَعَ الْخِمَارَ ، ثُمَّ طَلَّقَهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بِهَا ، تَحِلُّ لِزَوْجِهَا الْأَوَّلِ ؟ فَقَالَ : " لَا ، حَتَّى يَذُوقَ عُسَيْلَتَهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about a matter: If a man gives his wife three divorces, another man marries that woman, the doors are closed, the curtains are drawn, the veil is removed, but before consummation he divorces her—will she become lawful for the first husband? He (the Prophet) said: "No, not until the second husband tastes her honey."
