It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) held a horse race. Of those horses that were lean, he set the race from Hafyaa to Thaniyyat al-Wada', and for those that were not lean, he set the race from Thaniyyat al-Wada' to the mosque of Banu Zuraiq.
