Hadith 5119

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنِ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : أَحْسِبُهُ قَدْ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا مَاتَ أَحَدُكُمْ يُعْرَضُ عَلَيْهِ مَقْعَدُهُ غُدْوَةً وَعَشِيَّةً إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَمِنْ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فَمِنْ النَّارِ ، يُقَالُ : هَذَا مَقْعَدُكَ حَتَّى تُبْعَثَ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any one of you dies, his abode is presented before him morning and evening. If he is among the people of Paradise, then the abode of the people of Paradise is shown to him, and if he is among the people of Hell, then the abode of the people of Hell is shown to him, and it is said: 'This is your abode until you are resurrected.'"
