Hadith 5114

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي الْوَاسِطِيَّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ ثَوْبَانَ ، عَنْ حَسَّانَ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُنِيبٍ الْجُرَشِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بُعِثْتُ بِالسَّيْفِ حَتَّى يُعْبَدَ اللَّهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، وَجُعِلَ رِزْقِي تَحْتَ ظِلِّ رُمْحِي ، وَجُعِلَ الذِّلَّةُ وَالصَّغَارُ عَلَى مَنْ خَالَفَ أَمْرِي ، وَمَنْ تَشَبَّهَ بِقَوْمٍ فَهُوَ مِنْهُمْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have been sent with the sword so that only Allah, Who has no partner, may be worshipped. My sustenance has been placed under the shadow of my spear. Humiliation has been decreed for those who oppose my commands, and whoever imitates a people will be counted among them."
