Hadith 5044

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ حَيَّانَ يَعْنِي الْبَارِقِيَّ ، قَالَ : قِيلَ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ : إِنَّ إِمَامَنَا يُطِيلُ الصَّلَاةَ ؟ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ : " رَكْعَتَانِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخَفُّ ، أَوْ مِثْلُ رَكْعَةٍ مِنْ صَلَاةِ هَذَا " .
Hayan Barqi, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once a person said to Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, "Our imam leads very long prayers." Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, replied, "The two rak'ahs of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, were lighter or equal to one rak'ah of this person's prayer."
