Ubad bin Zahir says that I once heard Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) saying during a sermon, "By Allah! We used to enjoy the companionship of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in both travel and residence. The Prophet (peace be upon him) would visit our sick, attend our funerals, participate with us in jihad, and show sympathy to us in times of scarcity and abundance. And now, some people come to teach me who perhaps have never even seen the Prophet (peace be upon him)."
