Hadith 5030

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ بَهْزٌ : قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ ، سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْجَرِّ ، وَهِيَ الدُّبَّاءُ ، وَالْمُزَفَّتُ ، وَقَالَ : " انْتَبِذُوا فِي الْأَسْقِيَةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade (the use of) pitchers, that is, dubba and muzaffat, and said: Prepare nabidh in water skins.
