Hadith 5013

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، وَبَهْزٌ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ جَبَلَةَ ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يُحَدِّثُ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْحَنْتَمَةِ " ، قُلْتُ لَهُ : مَا الْحَنْتَمَةُ ؟ قَالَ : الْجَرَّةُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade «حنتمه», someone asked: What is that thing? He replied: "It is the jug that is used for nabidh (or for distilling wine)."
