Hadith 4917

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ لَمْ تُقْبَلْ لَهُ صَلَاةٌ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً ، فَإِنْ تَابَ ، تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ ، فَإِنْ عَادَ ، كَانَ حَقًّا عَلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى أَنْ يَسْقِيَهُ مِنْ نَهَرِ الْخَبَالِ " ، قِيلَ : وَمَا نَهَرُ الْخَبَالِ ؟ قَالَ : " صَدِيدُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever drinks alcohol, his prayer will not be accepted for forty days. If he repents, Allah will accept his repentance. If he does it a second time, his repentance will also be accepted. If he does it a third time, then it is Allah's right to make him drink from the water of the river Khabal." The people asked, "What is the river Khabal?" He said: "It is where the pus of the people of Hell will be collected."
