Thabit Banani, may Allah have mercy on him, says that I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, about the nabidh (fermented drink) of a pitcher, so he replied: "It is forbidden." I asked, "Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibit it?" He replied: "Yes, people say so."
