It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbidding the use of pitchers and gourd vessels. The narrator says that I also heard this hadith from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) with this addition: if no other vessel was found in which nabidh could be prepared, then nabidh would be prepared for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a stone vessel.
