Hadith 4908

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَرَأَى فِي الْقِبْلَةِ نُخَامَةً ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلَاتَهُ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ إِذَا صَلَّى فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَإِنَّهُ يُنَاجِي رَبَّهُ ، وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى يَسْتَقْبِلُهُ بِوَجْهِهِ ، فَلَا يَتَنَخَّمَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الْقِبْلَةِ ، وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ، ثُمَّ دَعَا بِعُودٍ فَحَكَّهُ ، ثُمَّ دَعَا بِخَلُوقٍ فَخَضَبَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw phlegm stuck towards the qiblah in the mosque during prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and cleaned it, then turned towards the people and, being displeased, said: "When any one of you is in prayer, Allah is in front of his face, so none of you should clean his nose in front of his face during prayer. Nor to his right side." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called for a stick and removed it with that, and called for perfume called "Khaluq" and applied it there.
