(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : بَيْنَمَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ يَقُصُّ وَعِنْدَهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، فَقَالَ عُبَيْدُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ كَشَاةٍ مِنْ بَيْنِ رَبِيضَيْنِ ، إِذَا أَتَتْ هَؤُلَاءِ نَطَحْنَهَا ، وَإِذَا أَتَتْ هَؤُلَاءِ نَطَحْنَهَا " ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ : لَيْسَ كَذَلِكَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، إِنَّمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَشَاةٍ بَيْنَ غَنَمَيْنِ " ، قَالَ : فَاحْتَفَظَ الشَّيْخُ ، وَغَضِبَ ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى ذَلِكَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أَمَا إِنِّي لَوْ لَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ لَمْ أَرُدَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْكَ .
Abu Ja'far Muhammad bin Ali, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once Ubaid bin Umair, may Allah be pleased with him, was speaking and Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, was also present there. Ubaid bin Umair said that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The example of a hypocrite is like that of a goat among flocks; if it goes to one flock, the goats there drive it away with their horns, and if it goes to another flock, the goats there also drive it away with their horns." Sayyiduna Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used the word «غنمين» instead of «ربيضين» on this occasion. Upon this, Sayyiduna Ubaid bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said: If I had not heard this hadith from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, I would not have contradicted your statement.
