Busr bin Sa'id says that Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) came and sat near the benches, asked for water for ablution, rinsed his mouth, put water in his nose, then washed his face three times and washed his hands three times each, then wiped his head and feet three times each, then said: "I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performing ablution in this manner." And to some of the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) who were present there, he said: "Is it so?" They confirmed it.
