Hadith 4855

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) wanted to buy Barirah, but Barirah’s owner refused to sell her and said that if the right of wala’ (allegiance) remains with us, then we will sell her. Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) mentioned this to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Buy her and set her free, for the right of wala’ belongs to the one who pays the price.”
