Hadith 4818

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَنْطَبٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَتَوَضَّأُ ثَلَاثًا " ، يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . (حديث مرفوع) (حديث موقوف) وَكَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ " يَتَوَضَّأُ مَرَّةً " ، يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Matlab bin Abdullah says that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to wash the limbs of ablution three times each and attributed this to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), while Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) used to wash them once each and he too attributed this to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
