Hadith 4797

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that during the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we used to say that the best among the people is the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was granted three virtues, and each of these virtues is more beloved to me than red camels: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married his daughter to him and he had children from her; the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered all the doors of the Prophet’s Mosque to be closed except his door; and on the day of the Battle of Khaybar, he (the Prophet) gave him the flag.
