(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنِي شَقِيقُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ حُمْرَانَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ عُثْمَانُ قَاعِدًا فِي الْمَقَاعِدِ ، فَدَعَا بِوَضُوءٍ ، فَتَوَضَّأَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ فِي مَقْعَدِي هَذَا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ مِثْلَ وُضُوئِي هَذَا ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَرَكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ " ، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَغْتَرُّوا " .
Humran reports that once Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) was sitting on a bench. He called for water and performed ablution thoroughly and well. He then said: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) perform ablution in this very place in the best manner, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever performs ablution like this of mine and then comes to the mosque and offers two units of prayer, Allah Almighty will forgive all his previous sins. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: "Do not be deceived."
