(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
الْعُمَرِيُّ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَثَلُ الْقُرْآنِ مَثَلُ الْإِبِلِ الْمُعَقَّلَةِ ، إِنْ تَعَاهَدَهَا صَاحِبُهَا أَمْسَكَهَا ، وَإِنْ تَرَكَهَا ذَهَبَتْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of the Qur'an is like that of a tied camel; if its owner keeps it tied, it remains under his control, but if he lets it loose, it runs away."
