Hadith 4722

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يَبِعْ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى بَيْعِ أَخِيهِ ، وَلَا يَخْطُبْ عَلَى خِطْبَةِ أَخِيهِ ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَأْذَنَ لَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you should sell over the sale of his brother, nor should he send a marriage proposal over the proposal of his brother, unless he is granted permission."
