Hadith 4716

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : كَانُوا يَتَبَايَعُونَ الطَّعَامَ جُزَافًا بِأَعْلَى السُّوقِ ، " فَنَهَاهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَبِيعُوهُ حَتَّى يَنْقُلُوهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that during the blessed era of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), people used to buy and sell grain by estimation, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade them from selling it in this manner until they had taken it to their own tents.
