Hadith 4711

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ خَالِهِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : كَانَتْ تَحْتِي امْرَأَةٌ كَانَ عُمَرُ يَكْرَهُهَا ، فَقَالَ : طَلِّقْهَا ، فَأَبَيْتُ ، فَأَتَى عُمَرُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : " أَطِعْ أَبَاكَ " .
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that the wife I had was disliked by Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). He said to me, "Divorce her." I hesitated in divorcing her, so Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) went to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me, "Obey your father."
