Hadith 4709

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " إِذَا وُضِعَ عَشَاءُ أَحَدِكُمْ وَأُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ ، فَلَا يَقُومُ حَتَّى يَفْرُغَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When food is placed before any of you and the prayer is established, he should not stand for the prayer before finishing (the meal)."
