Hadith 4661

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " عَرَضَهُ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ فَلَمْ يُجِزْهُ ، ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ ، فَأَجَازَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he was presented before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the occasion of the Battle of Uhud, and at that time he was fourteen years old. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not permit him to participate in the battle. Then, on the day of the Battle of Khandaq, he was presented again, and he had turned fifteen years old, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted him permission.
