Hadith 4637

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يَسْتَرْعِي اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى عَبْدًا رَعِيَّةً ، قَلَّتْ أَوْ كَثُرَتْ ، إِلَّا سَأَلَهُ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى عَنْهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، أَقَامَ فِيهِمْ أَمْرَ اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَمْ أَضَاعَهُ ؟ حَتَّى يَسْأَلَهُ عَنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ خَاصَّةً " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty will question every person whom He appoints over others, whether over few or many, about those under his care on the Day of Resurrection—whether he upheld Allah’s commands regarding them or neglected them. He will even be questioned specifically about his family."
