Hadith 4624

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُوقَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ حَفْصٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَذْنَبْتُ ذَنْبًا كَبِيرًا ، فَهَلْ لِي تَوْبَةٌ ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَكَ وَالِدَانِ ؟ " قَالَ : لَا ، قَالَ : " فَلَكَ خَالَةٌ " ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَبِرَّهَا إِذَنْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I have committed a very great sin; is there any room for repentance and any way out for me? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "Do you have parents?" He said: No! The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked about his maternal aunt, and he said: She is there. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Go and treat her kindly."
