Hadith 4619

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الضَّبِّ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ ؟ فَقَالَ : " لَا آكُلُهُ وَلَا أَنَهَى عَنْهُ " . (حديث مرفوع) (حديث موقوف) فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَكَلَ مِنْ هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ ، فَلَا يَأْتِيَنَّ الْمَسْجِدَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while he was on the pulpit, about the lizard. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I neither eat it nor do I forbid it." And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever eats from this tree (raw garlic), let him not come to the mosque."
