Hadith 4612

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي ، أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَتَحَرَّوْا بِصَلَاتِكُمْ طُلُوعَ الشَّمْسِ وَلَا غُرُوبَهَا ، فَإِنَّهَا تَطْلُعُ بَيْنَ قَرْنَيْ شَيْطَانٍ ، فَإِذَا طَلَعَ حَاجِبُ الشَّمْسِ ، فَلَا تُصَلُّوا حَتَّى تَبْرُزَ ، وَإِذَا غَابَ حَاجِبُ الشَّمْسِ ، فَلَا تُصَلُّوا حَتَّى تَغِيبَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not intend to pray at the time of sunrise or sunset, because the sun rises between the two horns of Satan. When the edge of the sun begins to rise, do not pray until it becomes fully apparent, and similarly, when the edge of the sun begins to set, do not pray until it has completely set."
