Hadith 4570

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، قَالَ : كَان ابْنُ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ : هَذِهِ الْبَيْدَاءُ الَّتِي يَكْذِبُونَ فِيهَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ ! وَاللَّهِ " مَا أَحْرَمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا مِنْ عِنْدِ الْمَسْجِدِ .
Salim (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to say, "This is the place of Bayda about which you attribute something incorrectly to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). By Allah! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) assumed Ihram from the mosque itself (and not from the place of Bayda as you have made popular)."
