Hadith 4566

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " الْبَيِّعَانِ بِالْخِيَارِ مَا لَمْ يَتَفَرَّقَا ، أَوْ يَكُونَ بَيْعَ خِيَارٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: The seller and the buyer have the option (to cancel the transaction) as long as they do not separate, or until it is a sale with an option.
