Hadith 4557

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Kill snakes, especially those with two stripes and those with short tails, for these two cause blindness in humans and miscarriage." Therefore, whenever Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) found a snake, he would kill it. On one occasion, Sayyiduna Abu Lubabah (may Allah be pleased with him) or Zayd bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) saw him driving away a snake, so he said that it is forbidden to kill snakes that enter houses.
