Hadith 4527

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا لَاعَنَ امْرَأَتَهُ ، وَانْتَفَى مِنْ وَلَدِهَا ، " فَفَرَّقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَهُمَا ، فَأَلْحَقَ الْوَلَدَ بِالْمَرْأَةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man invoked li'an against his wife and denied the attribution of her child to himself. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) separated the two and handed the child over to the mother.
