Hadith 4506

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَن ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ ، وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَهَا ، وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ فِي بَيْتِهِ ، وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْعِشَاءِ فِي بَيْتِهِ ، قَالَ : وَحَدَّثَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ " يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ حِينَ يَطْلُعُ الْفَجْرُ ، وَيُنَادِي الْمُنَادِي بِالصَّلَاةِ ، " قَالَ أَيُّوبُ : أُرَاهُ قَالَ : خَفِيفَتَيْنِ ، وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ فِي بَيْتِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I have performed two rak‘ahs with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) before the Zuhr prayer and two rak‘ahs with it, and also after Maghrib, I have performed two rak‘ahs in my house, and after ‘Isha as well, I have performed two rak‘ahs in my house. And Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) informed me that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform two rak‘ahs at the time of the rising of Fajr, when the caller was announcing the prayer (saying the iqamah), and two rak‘ahs after Jumu‘ah in his house.
