Hadith 4501

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَفَعَهُ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ الْيَدَيْنِ تَسْجُدَانِ ، كَمَا يَسْجُدُ الْوَجْهُ ، فَإِذَا وَضَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَجْهَهُ ، فَلْيَضَعْ يَدَيْهِ ، وَإِذَا رَفَعَهُ ، فَلْيَرْفَعْهُمَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) in a marfu’ form that just as the face prostrates, so do the hands prostrate in the same way. Therefore, when any one of you places his face on the ground, he should also place his hands, and when he raises his face, he should also raise his hands.
