Hadith 4497

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " قَدْ أُتِيَ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْنِي : الضَّبَّ ، فَلَمْ يَأْكُلْهُ ، وَلَمْ يُحَرِّمْهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a monitor lizard was presented before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) neither ate it nor declared it unlawful.
