Hadith 4493

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ النَّخْلِ حَتَّى يَزْهُوَ ، وَعَنِ السُّنْبُلِ حَتَّى يَبْيَضَّ وَيَأْمَنَ مِن الْعَاهَةَ ، نَهَى الْبَائِعَ وَالْمُشْتَرِيَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of dates until their buds appear, and the sale of wheat spikes until they are ripe and safe from calamities. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) issued this prohibition for both the seller and the buyer.
