Hadith 4426

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عُمَارَةَ بْنَ عُمَيْرٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : لَا يَجْعَلَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ لِلشَّيْطَانِ جُزْءًا ، يَرَى أَنَّ حَقًّا عَلَيْهِ الِانْصِرَافُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ، لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَكْثَرُ انْصِرَافِهِ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ " .
Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: None of you should give Satan any power over himself, not even to the extent of a portion, and he should not think that it is necessary for him to return only from the right side. I have seen the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that his return was often from the left side.
