(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ النَّخَعِيُّ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : وَقَفْتُ مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ الْجَمْرَةِ ، فَلَمَّا وَقَفَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهَا ، قَالَ : هَذَا وَالَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُهُ ، مَوْقِفُ الَّذِي أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيْهِ سُورَةُ الْبَقَرَةِ يَوْمَ رَمَاهَا ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ " رَمَاهَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ بِسَبْعِ حَصَيَاتٍ ، يُكَبِّرُ مَعَ كُلِّ حَصَاةٍ رَمَى بِهَا ، ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ " .
Abdur Rahman bin Yazid says that once I stood with Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) in front of Jamrah Aqabah. He stood there and said: By Allah, besides whom there is no deity, it was at this very place that the one upon whom Surah Al-Baqarah was revealed stood while performing the stoning. Then Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) threw seven pebbles at it, saying takbeer with each pebble, and then returned.
