Hadith 4367

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : تُوُفِّيَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الصُّفَّةِ ، فَوَجَدُوا فِي شَمْلَتِهِ دِينَارَيْنِ ، فَذَكَرُوا ذَاكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " كَيَّتَانِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that one of the people of Suffah passed away. People found two dinars in his sheet. They mentioned this to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "These are two coals of Hellfire."
