(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ حَصِيرَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَيْفَ أَنْتُمْ وَرُبُعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ، لَكُمْ رُبُعُهَا ، وَلِسَائِرِ النَّاسِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَرْبَاعِهَا ؟ " ، قَالُوا : اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ ، قَالَ : " فَكَيْفَ أَنْتُمْ وَثُلُثَهَا ؟ " قَالُوا : فَذَاكَ أَكْثَرُ ! قَالَ : " فَكَيْفَ أَنْتُمْ وَالشَّطْرَ ؟ " قَالُوا : فَذَلِكَ أَكْثَرُ ! فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عِشْرُونَ وَمِائَةُ صَفٍّ أَنْتُمْ مِنْهَا ثَمَانُونَ صَفًّا " .
Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked us, "How would it be if you were a quarter of the people of Paradise and the rest of the communities made up the other three quarters?" The noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "What if you are a third of the people of Paradise?" The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "That is more than before." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "What if you are half of the people of Paradise?" The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "That is even more than before." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "On the Day of Resurrection, there will be one hundred and twenty rows of the people of Paradise, of which only your community will make up eighty rows."
