Hadith 4301

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Abdullah! Do you have any water with you?" I replied, "No." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "What is in this vessel?" I replied, "Nabidh (a drink made from dates or raisins soaked in water)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Show it to me; this is both a drink and purifying." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution with it and led us in prayer.
