(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي فَزَارَةَ الْعَبْسِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زَيْدٍ مَوْلَى عَمْرِو بْنِ حُرَيْثٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا كَانَ لَيْلَةُ الْجِنِّ ، تَخَلَّفَ مِنْهُمْ رَجُلَانِ ، وَقَالَا : نَشْهَدُ الْفَجْرَ مَعَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ لِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَمَعَكَ مَاءٌ ؟ " قُلْتُ : لَيْسَ مَعِي مَاءٌ ، وَلَكِنْ مَعِي إِدَاوَةٌ فِيهَا نَبِيذٌ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَمْرَةٌ طَيِّبَةٌ ، وَمَاءٌ طَهُورٌ " ، فَتَوَضَّأَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of Laylat al-Jinn, two men among them stayed behind and said, "We will perform the Fajr prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked me, "Abdullah! Do you have water with you?" He replied, "I do not have water, but I do have nabidh in a vessel." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "This is pure dates and it is purifying as well." Thus, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution with it.
