Hadith 4294

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ مِينَاءَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةَ وَفْدِ الْجِنِّ ، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ تَنَفَّسَ ، فَقُلْتُ : مَا شَأْنُكَ ؟ فَقَالَ : " نُعِيَتْ إِلَيَّ نَفْسِي يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, that during an incident of Laylat al-Jinn, I was with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. When the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, returned from there, he was out of breath. I asked: Is everything alright? He said: "O Ibn Mas'ud! My death had come very near."
