Hadith 4293

Abdur Rahman bin Yazid says that I departed from the plain of Arafat with Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him). When he reached Muzdalifah, upon arrival, Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) led us in Maghrib and Isha prayers with adhan and iqamah, and in between he called for food, ate, and then slept. When the early time of Fajr began, he woke up and offered the Fajr prayer in the darkness, and said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had delayed these two prayers at this place from their (usual) times: Maghrib because people arrive here at night, and Fajr was offered at that time. Then he stood (for wuquf), and when it became bright, he said: "If the Commander of the Faithful now departs, he will do the right thing." So, Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) had not even finished his words when Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) departed from there.
