Hadith 4289

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : لَقَدْ رَأَى مِنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِ الْكُبْرَى سورة النجم آية 18 ، قَالَ : قَالَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ : " رَأَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَفْرَفًا أَخْضَرَ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ قَدْ سَدَّ الْأُفُقَ " . ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding the Qur'anic verse: « ﴿لَقَدْ رَأَى مِنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِ الْكُبْرَى﴾ » [النجم : 18] "Indeed, he certainly saw some of the greatest signs of his Lord," that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saw a green silk garment of Paradise (which Jibreel, peace be upon him, was wearing) and which covered the horizon.
