Hadith 4282

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَذْكُرُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُمْ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّه ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى بِهِمْ خَمْسًا ، ثُمَّ انْفَتَلَ ، فَجَعَلَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ يُوَشْوِشُ إِلَى بَعْضٍ ، فَقَالُوا لَهُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، صَلَّيْتَ خَمْسًا . فَانْفَتَلَ ، فَسَجَدَ بِهِمْ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ، وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَالَ : " إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ أَنْسَى كَمَا تَنْسَوْنَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) in five rak‘ahs, and after finishing, he turned his face away. The people became concerned, so they said: “O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! You turned your face after leading five rak‘ahs?” Upon hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed two prostrations of forgetfulness and then gave salam, and said: “I am only a human being, and just as you forget, I also forget.”
